Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical engineers are engaged in a wide range of activities ranging from fundamental engineering science to the development of specific technologies and systems. The students enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering program at Rensselaer learn and practice solving engineering problems, innovate, and target global challenges in a teamwork environment. A rigorous modern curriculum integrates fundamental-to-system concepts learned through coursework and hands-on laboratories with challenging capstone projects, and with product realization and innovation techniques aimed at solving global challenges.
