Mechanical, Aerospace and Nuclear Energy Professor John Tichy Named to 2023 Capital Region Music Hall of Fame

The Capital Region Music Hall of Fame announced that John Tichy, Professor and former head of the Department of Mechanical, Aerospace and Nuclear Energy is being inducted into the Hall of Fame. In addition to being a nationally recognized and celebrated mechanical engineer, Tichy is a guitarist and vocalist and an original member of Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen. Tichy’s musical career spanned the 60’s and 70’s and produced five studio and two live albums, and one Top 10 hit, “Hot Rod Lincoln.” Tichy is one eight musicians being inducted into the 2023 Hall of Fame class bringing the total number of inductees in Eddies Music Hall of Fame to 32. This honor is being added to other musical honors such as being listed in the Who’s Who in Rock & Roll (1996) and Rolling Stone Encyclopedia of Rock & Roll (1998). The ceremony will take place Sunday, April 30th at The Capital Region Thomas Edison Music Hall of Fame
