A few members of the RPI community had a recent Q and A discussion with NASA astronaut Rick Mastracchio. Mastracchio speaks on his 40-year career in human spaceflight and the current NASA Artemis II mission. The conversation dives into the purpose and risks of Artemis II while going over the important spacecraft systems being tested. Also, the evolution of NASA between the Apollo era and the Artemis missions, especially when it comes to the differences in spacecraft, spacesuits, and spaceflight. Mastracchio and the RPI community also speak on NASA’s future vision for the moon and the Gateway lunar space station. NASA also plans future missions to Mars!
