Abigail Rolen receives New York Space Grant Student Fellowship

Abigail Rolen, a Ph.D. student in the ASC Lab and Sandeep Singh's advisee is to be congratulated on receiving the New York Space Grant Student Fellowship for her research applying physics-informed neural networks (PINN) to solve the issue of determining energy-optimal orbital trajectories in order to provide a robust alternative to existing learning-based autonomous guidance algorithms for space missions. A trained machine learning model would significantly reduce the amount of onboard computation required for future interplanetary and deep space missions that require improved autonomous guidance.
